Earlier this week I posed a question that was posed by a dear friend, who shall remain nameless, about the benefits of marriage. After we discussed it for a while, I posted it on facebook and got several responses. I honestly felt that many of those who responded touched the surface of the issue with responses like, "the benefits are the blessings of God" and "true love". While others talked about tax breaks and "paying for each others funerals". While some of the statements are laughable some hold to it grave truths.
So I asked myself, "Why do people get married? ( beyond the obvious ) and What are the benefits?
As I took myself out of the equation, and looked at it from the outside and from a different perspective. When the smoke cleared Economics was standing there like Ali over Liston! The truth of the matter is that money matters in divorce and in marriage. I mean really! Because you can get love, support, affection, and all that other stuff from your family, friends, and even a boy/girlfriend. You be be blessed by GOD still and not be married. Paul wasnt married ( maybe a widower) but he preached on how you can be blessed abundantly without it!
Yeah, I heard about the One send 1,000 in flight and Two sends 10,000 into flight but WHAT DOES THAT MEAN! People dont talk much about that part! In fact people do not seem to talk about much when it comes to this subject...they simple regurgitate cultural and religious customs and implement them without THINKING about what they are doing.
So why do people get married? Why do gays want so desperately to get married? At the most basic level so that they can be economically competitive.I mean think about it. Marriage is an institution where you can take care of your most sacred loved ones. People have been on respirators...dying...married to a lunatic for a few years but has a family that has been with them through the thick and thin...and who has the so called RIGHT to pull the switch...the lunatic because of the laws of marriage ( at least in movies lol )! But I am sure you get my point.
I am not dissing marriage, I am happily married! I simply understand the institution I am apart of AND I KNOW WHY I GOT MARRIED TO MY WIFE! Its very personal and spiritual (and economical lol) to me!
Seriously, we, as a people have to start thinking alot more these days about everything! That is why MATH is so important...it teaches us to think and it holds us VERY accountable for it! But nowadays, nobody likes math anymore. I would not be surprised if it was soon withdrawn as a high school requirement. But I digress... What do you think...hit me up...im listening...

Men and women as just friends...?
According to the overwhelming response ( 4 PEOPLE)to the poll I started about a week and a half ago, many people say that men and women CAN be JUST friends...but it depends! I guess my next question would be ... "On what?!?!" I mean, I have my own personal beliefs about these type of relationships but what does it depend on? IDK you tell me?
